Classical Civilization-Greece

One of the most important parts of the Ancient Greek Civilization is their pillars. These include the Ionic, doric and the corithian. Each pillar has a sort of different meaning and a different way it is designed. The Doric (Shown in the first picture on the left) is the most simple and is sometimes referred to as the "optical perfection" due to its simplicity and focus on accuracy. The Ionic (shown center) is a little more advanced showing what look like scrolls on the top of the pillar. As for the most advanced looking, it is the Corinthian. This incorporates the scrolls of the Ionic and add a more complex leafy pattern, which was used for highly decorative situations,

When looking at the homes of the Greece Civilization the furniture is a very important aspect. There are tons of new furniture introduced in this civilization. For one the 'thronos' which is a formal chair of honor, something that we would consider as a throne, is created and used. They also began using a 'klismos' which is a very graceful and influential furniture piece. (shown below) This chair had curved saber legs, and an arched back for more comfort. Another piece, extremely similar to the Klismos is the Diophros ,which is pretty much the same desing just it lacks a back so it sort of more resembles a stool in that way.The final piece was the 'Kline' which was used for a lot of purposes including: a bed, an eating area, lounge chair, etc. The multipurpose use of this piece was very popular.
